Demolition, site work, renovation and addition to an educational facility in Laurel, Maryland. Completed plans call for the expansion of a primary / secondary education facility.

The Work of Project is defined by the Contract Documents and consists of the following: Work includes a building addition, and site modifications with new sidewalk, fire lane drives, fencing, underground utilities and stormwater management. The new one-story kindergarten addition consisting of approximately, 9505 SF includes concrete slab-on-grade, bearing masonry walls and steel framed roof. HVAC will be provided via new unit ventilators for the addition. The new addition will be structurally independent from the existing building, and will be separated by building and roof expansion joints. Work includes civil, architectural, structural, mechanical, plumbing, electrical and fire protection disciplines. The Contractor shall include provisions for maintaining egress from the existing school while the building is occupied. See drawings PH-1 & PH-2 for phasing and egress requirements. All work shall follow the phasing requirements and be complete and ready for occupancy by 1 April 2022 for Base Bid. During the life of the Contract from notice to proceed to expiration of warranty period at all times, conduct all operations at the job site including access to the site in such a manner so as not to endanger, inconvenience or interfere with the operation or occupants of adjoining building or properties. Contractors are to factor this restriction into their lump sum.
