Renovation of a mixed-use development in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Working plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
The University of New Mexico Hospital Planning & Development Department is requesting proposals from qualified and bonded primary contractors to design and install a photovoltaic (PV) system. The purpose of this RFP is to solicit proposals from qualified entities to design and install a Photovoltaic System on the upcoming UNMH Tower Parking Structure in accordance with the Proposal Documents (Scope of Work described in this RFP and the evaluation criteria). UNM views utilization of local vendors, suppliers and contractors as a good, sustainable practice. As such, UNM strongly encourages offerors to solicit and consider local New Mexico Business community members in preparing proposal offers. It is the intent of the UNM to apply sustainable development concepts in the planning, design, construction, environmental management, operation, maintenance and disposal of facilities and infrastructure projects, consistent with applicable laws and budget requirements. In carrying out this intent, UNM will abide by the following standards where applicable to this particular project: NOT APPLICABLE: Executive Order 2006-001, Energy Efficient Green Building Standards for State Buildings, signed January 16, 2006, calls on Executive Branch state agencies to promote energy efficiency, water conservation, and the use of clean energy sources, and to help foster markets for sustainable economic development. Specifically, it states that Executive Branch state agencies shall adopt the U.S. Green Building Council's LEED(R) rating system to achieve a minimum rating of LEED(R) Silver for new construction of public buildings in excess of 15,000 square feet and/or using over 50 kW peak electrical demand. In achieving its LEED(R) rating, the project must achieve a minimum delivered energy performance standard of 50% of the US energy consumption for that building type as defined by the U.S. Department of Energy. Additionally, new construction and renovation of public buildings between 5,000 -15,000 square feet shall achieve a minimum delivered energy performance standard of 50% of the US energy consumption for that building type as defined by the U.S. Department of Energy. NOT APPLICABLE: The facility designs will address the following guiding principles that have been identified as important to UNM. a) Flexibility. UNMH would like generic spaces that can be configured quickly to service the changing needs of UNM. b) Collaborative Planning. Contractors will need to work with the staff, faculty, UNM's students and architects who might be affected by the new construction. c) Community Use. UNM would like to take advantage of partnerships with local businesses, community groups, public agencies, and other institutions. d) Cost Effective Design. The new facility must stay within the available budget established by UNM. e) Security. The facility will need to be constructed with security in mind. f) Sustainable Construction. The construction of the facility will complement the existing use of materials to create a campus image and identity that is sensitive to the landscape and the area. h) Technology. The construction of the facility and spaces will meet the needs of the unprecedented growth in the availability of technology. Issues such as wireless classrooms, laptop access, multi-media presentations, and digitally stored information will need to be addressed. i) Universal Construction. The facility will abide by the accessibility guideline of the Americans with Disabilities Act, and to incorporate universal design concepts such as Areas of Refuge, Unisex restrooms, etc Question Submission Close Date 4/28/2021 3:00 PM MDT
