As of Sept. 3, 2021 Project was awarded for $867,870.10 The work under this contract includes raising the bottom of the two existing on-site stormwater basins at 3 Paxton Street in the Town of Leicester, MA to be above the groundwater table and lateral expansion (approximately 575 CY) to one of the existing stormwater basins. The work within the subject property also includes approximately 30 feet of 12" RCP, approximately 50-feet of 18" HDPE pipe, approximately 160-feet of 12" HDPE pipe, 110-feet of 6" PVC pipe, two water quality structures, and one drain manhole. The project will also include installation of a closed drainage trunkline from the subject property to a flared end outfall in a wooded area adjacent to Sargent Pond via an easement on a Warren Avenue residential property, Warren Avenue, Gleason Way, and easements on two residential properties west of Gleason Way. The work outside of the subject property consists of approximately 970- feet of 18" HDPE pipe, approximately 230-feet of 12" HDPE pipe, approximately 10-feet of 4" PVC pipe, one area drain, four catch basins, and five drain manholes. The flared end outlet will be equipped with riprap apron and a level spreader to distribute the flow and dissipate velocities. Hot mix asphalt patching is required for all areas where trench excavation in parking areas and existing roadway, and other incidental work. Bidders and sub-contractors must be pre-qualified by the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) in the class of work being performed. The Owner reserves the right, in its absolute and sole discretion, to waive any informality in or to reject any or all Bids if deemed to be in its best interest. June 16, 2021 Each Bidder shall carefully examine the information available to do the Work and all conditions which may affect proper execution of the Work. The purpose of this project is to provide the Owner with equipment, materials, and labor as detailed in these specifications in accordance with all applicable federal, state and local statutes, laws and regulations. No claims for additional costs will be allowed because of lack of knowledge of the existing conditions. The Bid shall include all equipment, materials, and labor to complete this Work as specified hereafter. The Bidder, through submission of its Bid, acknowledges that the nature of the work may require several mobilizations in order to complete work during the course of the contract and on this basis, the cost inherent with such mobilizations has been included by the Bidder within its stipulated bid item unit price for Item 748 Mobilization. The Bidder also acknowledges that the Bid quantities are good faith estimates of the work anticipated to be performed during the Contract Time and the Bidder shall not be entitled to any additional compensation beyond the stipulated unit prices for the actual use during the Contract Time of more or less quantity as herein defined.
