Description: Beaufort County is soliciting bids to resurface its indoor Battery Creek Pool located at 1 Blue Dolphin Dr, Beaufort, SC 29906. The work includes draining the pool, identifying and repairing delaminated surfaces, and resurfacing with quartz plaster, refilling and balancing water in preparation for use. The successful contractor shall include permits, fees, and DHEC approval documents for the work. After the pool work is complete and after the water level has been set, the contractor shall brush and clean the plaster surface and vacuum any debris. All discarded material and plaster waste shall be removed from the site and disposed of in accordance with law. The bidders shall provide a Unit Cost (sf) for Addition or Deduction of Removal and Repair of all delamination beyond 20% of the Pool Surface Area. The selected contractor shall be responsible for draining and refilling the pool and shall warrant that no leaks will exist once the pool has been refilled. The successful pool plastering contractor shall warrant the completed work to be free from blisters, delamination, and leaks for a period of 18 months from the date of final acceptance. Contractor shall complete all work within 45 days from date of notice to proceed. This amount of time shall be indicated on the bid form. Liquidated Damages shall be in the amount of $200.00 per calendar day for each day beyond the stated completion date of the work that the work is not complete and ready to use for its intended purpose. All Bids shall be accompanied by a Bid Bond drawn in favor of the Beaufort County Treasurer of Beaufort County, Beaufort, South Carolina, in the amount of at least five percent (5%) of the bid for the complete work: such Bid Bond representing that the Bidder, if awarded a contract, will promptly enter into a contract and furnish Performance Bond and Payment Bond as provided by law and approved by the attorney for Beaufort County, South Carolina. Each bond shall be equal one hundred percent (100%) of the contract amount. A copy of the Bid Bond or Certified Check must be electronically sent with your bid documents through Vendor Registry Beaufort County reserves the right to reject all proposals and to waive minor informalities and irregularities.
