Somerville MWR205 Tide Gate Replacement Q And A Open: 04/21/2021 06:15:10 PM Q And A Close: 05/06/2021 02:30:00 AM MWRA Construction Contract OP-429 will be replacing 6.5' by 6.5' existing MWR205 CSO tide gate. The work will consist of installation of stop logs, field measurements, cleaning of tide gate structure, demo of existing gate, installation of new gate, and removal of stop logs. There is no excavation required for this project. The MWR205 tide gate structure is within the MWRA chain link fence. The fence is defined as the limit of work, approximately 5 feet from the parking lot. No disruption outside the fence is anticipated. It is anticipated the Contractor will want to use the parking spaces near the tide gate structure as a temporary construction area as indicated on plans. The construction drawings state to protect the granite monument north of the tide gate structure as stated DCR during the 2-9-21 DCR/MWRA Coordination Meeting. The Notice to Proceed is anticipated in June 2021 with a duration of 270 day but the actual field work is estimated to be a total of 21 days. The contractor is expected to access the structure 2 to 3 times for field measurements, cleaning, and demo/installation. The duration of each visit is estimated to be a week. The fabrication time for the gate is 22 weeks. The first site visit is expected in July 2021 and the gate demolition/installation in December 2021. At the 2-9-21 DCR/MWRA Coordination Meeting, DCR determined that this project would be completed before the renovations to the Draw Seven Projects begin in Spring 2022
