Work to be performed under this maintenance project consists of infiltration restoration and minor trenching at Eighth Street Basin. Infiltration restoration work includes several stages: removal of vegetation and debris, removing silt material from the basin floors, diversion channels, and side slopes, disposing of all silt and debris encountered during the Contractor's activities on the basin floors and side slopes, providing minor floor grade adjustments that improve and restore basin draining, repairing and track-walking the basin side slopes, and ripping and smoothing the basin floor. Historically, the basin has been treated as two separate basins for infiltration restoration projects in order to better manage nuisance water inflow; whereas, 8 th Street South is completed prior to beginning work on 8 th Street North. It will be at the contractor's discretion as whether to work 8 th Street North and 8 th Street South concurrently or independently. Narrow and shallow trenching will be completed along a section of the basin slope and will be backfilled once IEUA staff completes the installation of conduit.
