Construction of a new Visitors Center, of concrete, steel and glass construction, generally within the footprint of the existing facility. New facility to include the following programmatic elements: information desk with queuing area, interpretive space, elevators, an interactive multimedia experience, restrooms, circulation, and support spaces including storage and mechanical. Facility will also contain dining and gift shop spaces, which will be built out by a tenant under a separate contract before project completion. All exhibits will be procured and installed under a separate contract. Extensive coordination with these separate contracts will be required by the contractor under the direction of the Construction Manager. . Adaptive reuse of the existing regional administration offices, including targeted demolition, interior reconfiguration, and miscellaneous utility work.
