Site work and paving for a civil project in Florence, Alabama. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; water / sewer project; and water / sewer project.
Sealed bids submitted prior to the bid opening should be clearly marked on the outside of the envelope and sent to the City Purchasing Department, 110 West College Street, Municipal Building Room 329, Florence, AL 35630. All General Contractors for this Cox Creek Interceptor Sewer project must be prequalified. The prequalification process and required submittals are included in the Specifications. In general, the project includes approximately 5,250 LF feet of 30" gravity sewer, 950 LF of 36" gravity sewer, 80 LF of 8" or 6" gravity sewer, 29 associated manholes, a 110 LF railroad bore, a 110 LF roadway bore, and a 570 LF 16" water main relocation. This project is considered a "Public Works" project and is governed by competitive bid laws as contained in Title 39 (1997) of the Alabama Code. Bidders, subcontractors, suppliers, and Bond Agents should be familiar with this code. The attention of all Bidders is called to the provisions of State law governing "General Contractor", as set forth in ALA.CODE 34-8-1, et seq. (1975), and rules and regulations promulgated pursuant thereto. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive irregularities in the bids and bidding deemed to be in the best interests of the Owner, and to reject non-conforming, non-responsive, or conditional bids. No Bidder may withdraw his bid within sixty days from the date set for receiving the bids.
