Renovation of a municipal facility in Mount Penn, Pennsylvania. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.

This work will consist of the re-roofing of all existing EPDM surfaces of the structure at 200 North 25th Street as described in the contract documents. Any changes to the plans or specifications will be provided as an Addendum and notice will be given to Bidders through the website via email. No responses will be provided for requests received after 12:00 pm on June 11th, 2021. The bid must be accompanied by a Cashiers Check, Certified Check, or Bid Bond in the amount of Ten Percent (10%) of the bid, made payable to the Borough of Mount Penn. Also required are a properly executed Bid Form, Non-Collusion Affidavit, Certification Statement, and Contractors Qualification Statement. The successful bidder shall also be required to provide a Performance Bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract amount within ten (10) calendar days of written notice of acceptance of the Bid. The Borough reserves the right to reject any or all proposals or to accept any portion of any bid, and to award Contracts as is deemed best for the Borough. The Borough also reserves the right to waive any defects, errors, omissions, irregularities, or informalities in bids received. Bids will be publicly awarded on June 29, 2021 at 7:30 pm (local time) at the Mount Penn Borough Hall, 200 North 25th Street, Mt. Penn, PA 19606. Provide damage protection for all HVAC units on existing roofs. o Remove existing unsuitable roofing materials and underlayment to establish a solid substrate. Prepare substrate for re-roofing. o Remove existing roof vent boot(s), pitch pocket(s) and prepare remaining piping to received new work Perma-Boot flashing boots. o Apply EPDM rinse prep and pressure wash at 4000 PSI. o Cut in three (3) trough drains at gutter edge to help disperse standing water. Inspect existing roof deck material. Ensure remaining deck is free from debris, fasteners, and is suitable for the re-roofing application. o Apply twelve (12) inch reinforced mesh around perimeter. o Roofing contractor shall include in the bid price the removal and reinstallation of 1,000 sq. ft. of 5/8" Advantech OSB Exterior #1 Classification roof deck material. Roofing contractor shall provide a 4 x 8 sheet unit cost for additional removal and replacement of 5/8" Advantech OSB Exterior #1 Classification roof deck material. o Install tapered ISO boards to create cricket at the wall in the middle of lower roof to help disperse water. o Install new open vinyl 6x6 and 4x4's under HVAC units. o Install reinforced mesh in field as required. o Do not remove existing metal flashings at lower roof and chimney. Ensure that the existing EPDM is secure within the existing reglet.
