Renovation of a municipal facility in Hilo, Hawaii. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.
The work generally consists of the following: Replacing the corrugated metal roofing and other improvements at the Hilo Welfare Facility (Kulana Naauao Building). Other improvements include, but are not limited to, replacing ceilings, trims and window glazing. Complete exterior and interior repainting, installing overlay sheathing and new floor finish over existing flooring and signage work. Repairing termite damage and strengthening both the lower and upper roof framing to support gravity loads. Substantially replacing the air conditioning system. Replacing interior lighting, miscellaneous electrical repair, replacement and maintenance work. Termite fumigating the building twice. The Project work includes moving the existing equipment, furniture, file cabinets, and other non-built-ins from the Hilo Welfare Facility to the designated temporary space leased by the State. All moved items shall be reassembled and made fully operational and functional in the temporary space. Upon substantial completion of the project renovations, the equipment, furniture, file cabinets, and other non-built-ins shall be moved back to the Hilo Welfare Facility and reassembled and made fully operational and functional again in the permanent location.
