A Bid Bond or Bid Deposit in the Amount of 5% of the Total Amount Bid Will Be Required. The Bidder Shall Submit an Electronic Bid Bond With Each Electronic Bid Submittal Unless He Elects to Furnish a Bid Deposit. All Questions Related to Projects During the Advertisement Period Shall Be Addressed to the State Contract Officer at 919-707-6900. A General Contractors License Is Required in Order to Submit a Bid on Any Non-federal Aid Project Where the Bid Is $30,000.00 or More, Except for Certain Specialty Work as Determined by the Licensing Board. On Federal Projects, the Appropriate Contractors License Shall Be Obtained Within 60 Days of Bid Opening. For Additional Information or to Make Application for a License, Apply to the Executive Secretary of the Contractor Licensing Board, P.o. Box 17187, Raleigh, Nc 27619, (919-571-4183). All Prospective Bidders Shall Be Prequalified With the Department of Transportation Prior to Submitting a Bid. Contractors Who Are Not Prequalified May Obtain Information and Forms for Prequalifying From the Contractual Services Management Section of the Contract Standards and Development Unit, 1509 Mail Service Center, Raleigh, N. C., . All Required Prequalification Statements and Documents Shall Be Filed With the Contractual Services Management Section at Least Four Weeks Prior to the Date of Opening Bids. The Right Is Reserved to Reject Any or All Bids. These Charges Are Not Deposits and Will Not Be Refunded. All Orders for Proposal Forms, Plans and Cross-sections Delivered in North Carolina Are Subject to 7.25% Sales Tax. Orders Mailed to Out of State Contractors Are Not Subject to Sales Tax. NCDOT - 006 - Milling, Resurfacing, and Shoulder Grading The work covered by this provision consists of clipping high shoulders and reconstructing the earth shoulder in accordance with Standard Drawing No. 560.01 and 560.02 of the 2018 Roadway Standard Drawing with the following exceptions: the rate of slope and width will be as shown on typical sections, or to the existing shoulder point, whichever is nearer, as long as the desired typical is achieved. Seeding and mulching shall be performed upon completion of shoulder grading when earth borrow is used. Also covered by this provision is the removal and disposal of the edge of roadway grass and material clippings in accordance with section 802 of the 2018 Roadway Standard Specifications. This work shall be performed on subdivision roads where shoulder grading is not required. This work shall be performed immediately after the resurfacing operations are complete, as directed by the Engineer.
