For the Carsten Road Culvert No. 17 Replacement Project in Lafayette Township Said improvement will involve the removal of the existing 117"x79" corrugated metal arch and installation of a new 9'x5' 4-sided box culvert including premium bedding & backfill, concrete footers and wingwalls, ditching, drive pipe, field drives, guardrail, fencing, asphalt pavement and general excavation involving ditch realignment and fine grading in preparation of seeding and incorporating stipulated traffic control in accordance with the specifications and accompanying construction drawings. No contract shall be awarded at a price more than ten percent in excess of the Engineer's estimate Each bidder shall be required to file a bid guaranty with the bid in the form of either: (1) a Bid/ Performance Bond in the amount of one-hundred percent (100%) of the amount bid; or (2) a Certified Check, Cashier's Check or Letter of Credit shall equal to 10% of the amount bid, conditioned that the bidder shall, if his bid is accepted, execute a contract in conformity with the bid, plans, details, specifications and bills of material. A Letter of Credit shall be revocable only at the option of the County. Contractor compliance with the equal employment opportunity requirements detailed in the Bid Documents shall be required.
