The City of Winkler owns and maintains the Aquatic Centre located at 580 Park Street. The Winkler Aquatic Centre opened on July 1, 1996 and has been a popular attraction for residents and visitors during the summer months. The City has been diligent in maintaining and repairing all components of the Aquatic Centre over the last 25 years. However, over time, the speed slides have degraded to the point where ongoing maintenance and refurbishment was not enough. Recently, the City hired Western Rec to do an overall inspection and analysis of the existing Speed Slides. The resulting report recommended the speed slides be decommissioned immediately as they have become a safety hazard for patrons. City Council has approved funding to replace the Speed Slides in 2021. This City is seeking Aquatic Centre professionals to design (including engineered drawings) and install new speed slides at the Winkler Aquatic Centre. Scope of Services - Removal and disposal of existing slides - Evaluation and design of slide layout and existing support structures - Design and Engineering services - Mechanical/Plumbing - Electrical work - Integration with pool deck and existing slide support structure See Appendix A for related photos and drawings.
