The Well Field is located on the west bank of the South Platte River approximately midway between Brighton and Fort Lupton, Colorado. The former Thornton Property recently was acquired by the City and is located at the northern end of the Well Field. Expansion onto the former Thornton Property entails design and construction of six (6) new groundwater production wells and associated civil/electrical/mechanical infrastructure. The new groundwater production wells will connect into existing piping located at the north end of the existing Well Field, and collectively are anticipated to increase the Well Field's capacity by approximately 2 MGD once constructed. Project work is being performed under one (1) design and two (2) construction contracts. The design contract was awarded (to Kennedy Jenks). The two (2) construction contracts awarded sequentially, address 1) drilling, completion, and pump testing of the six (6) new groundwater production wells; and 2) buildout of the new well's associated civil/electrical/mechanical infrastructure and their integration into the existing Well Field. Work under the first construction contract (drilling, completion, and pump testing of the six [6] new groundwater production wells) concluded in the Summer 2021. This Notice of Invitation for Bids only addresses the project's second construction contract (buildout of the new well's associated civil/electrical/mechanical infrastructure and their integration into the existing Well Field). Under this contract a prequalified prime (general) contractor (prequalified under SOQ-21-5835A) will be retained by the City (through competitive bid) to construct the civil/electrical/mechanical infrastructure designed for the new groundwater production wells and commission the new production wells. In general, the work includes, but is not be limited to those elements listed below. The work is more thoroughly defined in the drawings and specifications accompanying this Invitation for Bids. Installation of submersible well pump, motor and pitless adapter at each of the six (6) wells. Installation of below-ground pre-cast concrete meter vaults for each of the six (6) wells. Installation of ductile iron piping and appurtenances from each of the six (6) wells through the meter vault to the well collection pipeline. Installation of approximately 2,700 lineal feet of 12" and 16" C900 PVC pipelines to transport the water from the six (6) wells into the City's existing Well Field collection pipeline system. Connect the pipeline to the City's existing Well Field collection pipeline. Installation of a gravel roadway to provide access to each well site, gravel access driveways at each well station location, and a turnaround area at the northern-most well. Installation of above ground electrical, instrumentation & control cabinets on concrete slabs for each well. Installation of electrical and fiber optic service to each well site. Coordination, performance, and documentation for all necessary factory and field acceptance testing for all equipment and the integrated well system. Provide shop drawing submittals. Attendance at weekly construction progress meetings. Acquisition of all required permits and submittal of all required documentation per the permit requirements.
