Proposals may be hand delivered and/or sent by overnight courier (e.g. FedEx, UPS, etc.) to the City's Public Works address and addressed to the Office of the Director of Public Works at 1400 West Hawthorne Lane, West Chicago, Illinois 60185. Mailed proposals must be sent to the City's mailing address at City of West Chicago, 475 Main Street, West Chicago, IL 60185 in care of the Public Works Director. Mailed proposals should arrive at least one business day prior to bid opening so proposals can be filed at the Office of the Director of Public Works. All bid proposals are to be made on the forms provided and will be made a part of the contract documents to be executed with the City. Bid proposals are to be received in a sealed 9"x12" or 10"x13' envelope. The envelope shall be marked: "Sealed Bid - 2021 SIDEWALK AND CURB MAINTENANCE PROGRAM", and the name of the bidder. The program consists of approximately 7,600 square feet of intermittent removal and replacement of mostly residential concrete sidewalk located throughout the City. The program also includes the installation of detectable warning panels, intermittent curb and gutter removal and replacement, PCC driveway pavement, landscape restoration, and all incidental and collateral work necessary to complete the project as shown on the Plans. All quantities will be used in determining the lowest responsible bidder. Paper copies of the bidding documents are not available at the City of West Chicago. certified check or cashier's check drawn on a responsible bank doing business in the United States and shall be made payable to the City of West Chicago. All bids not accompanied by a bid deposit will be rejected. No bidder may withdraw his/her bid after the scheduled closing time for a period of ninety (90) days. The City reserves the right to reject any and all bid proposals, to waive any informality in any bid proposal, to re-advertise the proposed services, and to accept the proposal most advantageous to the City. Submission of waivers of lien and certified payroll shall be required.
