A timeline for award has not yet been established.** The project consists of the construction of a 10-foot wide multi-use trail in Osceola County. The trail will run along Fortune Road/East Lakeshore Boulevard and will begin at the intersection of US 192 and will terminate at the existing City of St. Cloud Lakefront Regionally Significant Trail, just west of the intersection at East Lakeshore Boulevard and Columbia Avenue. The total project length is approximately 7.27 miles. The project will include new trail construction, removal of existing sidewalk, a pedestrian bridge over the Saint Cloud Canal and drainage improvements to include construction of ditches and storm drains, intersection improvements at signalized intersections (US 192, Shake Rag Rd., Bill Beck Blvd., Lakeside Dr., and Partin Settlement Rd.), and improvements to pedestrian crossings at non-signalized intersections to ensure safety of multiple users and connectivity to a larger pedestrian network. The intent of this solicitation is to select a successful Bidder (Contractor) to provide for the construction of the Fortune-Lakeshore Multi-use Trail Project (Federal-Aid Funded - LAP) FM# 437474-1-58-01. The trail will run along Fortune Road/East Lakeshore Boulevard and will begin at the intersection of US 192 and will terminate at the existing City of St. Cloud Lakefront Regionally Significant Trail, just west of the intersection at East Lakeshore Boulevard and Columbia Avenue. To be considered, the Bidder (Prime Contractor) and/or its subcontractors must be FDOT pre-qualified in the following Work Groups: 7. Drainage, 10. Flexible Paving, 11. Grading, 12. Grassing, seeding and sodding, 40. Sidewalk, 40. Driveways, and 27. Minor Bridges. Each bid must be accompanied by a bid security equaling 5% of the total bid. The bid security may be submitted in the form of a standard form bid bond from a surety licensed to do business in Florida and with a Best's or equivalent rating of A+ or more, or by a certified check, or a cashiers check. Failure to submit the bid security may result in the disqualification of your bid. Failure to submit bid security in the form of a bid bond may be used by the County as an indicator of financial non-responsibility. The terms of the bid security shall be that either the bidder will enter into the contract if awarded to the bidder, or the surety (or alternate form of security forfeit) will be responsible for the costs resulting from the failure of the bidder to enter into the contract including the increased costs associated with taking the next lowest responsive, responsible bidder and costs associated with conducting the bid and letting the contract Questions regarding this bid must be received through written email or faxed inquiries directed to the designated Procurement Services Representative.
