Demolition, site work, paving, renovation and addition to a mixed-use development in Quincy, Illinois. Completed plans call for the addition of a 14,170-square-foot educational facility; for the renovation of a 30,070-square-foot educational facility; for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.

Construction of a new 14,170 SF addition and partial renovation of the existing 30,070 SF facility. Site work includes but is not limited to the following: a new entrance drive, parking lot expansion, site grading, and site utilities. Structural work includes but is not limited to building foundations and structural steel erection. Fire sprinkler work includes a new fire sprinkler system through the existing building and new addition. Plumbing work includes but is not limited to a new water service, new sanitary sewer lateral, sand/oil separator, and new multi-user restrooms. HVAC work includes but is not limited to new welding exhaust and make-up air units, new roof top units, new dedicated outside air units, new VRV system, and new exhaust systems. Electrical work includes but is not limited to a new generator, new power and distribution, and new lighting. All proposals shall be accompanied by either a bid bond on the "Proposal Bid Bond" form contained in the proposal, executed by a corporate surety company satisfactory to John Wood Community College or a bank cashier's check, an irrevocable letter of credit or a properly certified check payable to the John Wood Community College for not less than 5 percent (5%) of the amount bid, or for the amount listed in the specifications. The John Wood Community College reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive technicalities and reserves the right to determine the qualifications of any and all contractors to perform the work required under this contract. No bid may be withdrawn after the time for opening of the bids is past. Bidders are notified that not less than the prevailing wage rate as determined by the Illinois Department of Labor and Davis Bacon Wage Rate Act shall be paid to all workmen performing work under this contract. Bids may be held by the John Wood Community College for a period not to exceed 60 days from the date of the opening of Bids for the purpose of reviewing the Bids and investigating the qualifications of Bidders, prior to awarding of the Contract. This Project to which the construction work covered by this Contract pertains is being issued by the United States of America through federal assistance provided by the U.S. Department of Commerce - Economic Development Administration (EDA). EDA Contracting Provisions are included in this Contract and all subcontracts or related instruments pursuant to the provisions applicable to such federal assistance from EDA.
