____________________________________ Project Description and Specifications This project consists of a rock embankment repair and road surface repair utilizing the following: (A) Slip material shall be excavated and removed from the repair area. Excavation shall be deep enough to remove all nonsuitable slip-prone soil. In the event that water is encountered during excavation, the engineer shall be notified and field modification made to drain the site. (B) A toe keyway, minimum of 3 feet x 3 feet section shall be excavated along the bottom of the slip area, for th entire length of the slip. (C) Dump Rock, with typar shall be placed in the toe key. Typar shall be extended up the excavation face to the existing road grade elevation. (D) Dump Rock shall then be placed as backfill in the excavated slip area, for a thickness of at least 3 feet, entire length of slip. Payment for typar is to be included in the Dump Rock line item. Dump Rock shall extend to the edge of the excavation and create a weep drain outside the excavation to the downslope. (E) Ditch and shoulder shall be graded to provide adequate drainage from the roadway, into adjacent culvert(s). (F) Clearing and grubbing line item is included to provide tree removal within the work area. All wood and debris from the tree removal shall be hauled away from the site and disposed of properly. (G) Road way repairs shall be per the noted dimensions and include all labor, material and equipment necessary to perform the roadway repair per ODOT specifications. All aggregate shall be ODOT approved or County pre-approved material, unless otherwise specified. Prevailing wage rates apply. Workers Compensation and property damage and liability insurance are required. All road work and closures required a permit through the Monroe County Engineers Office. Road Closure will be permitted at this site.
