Site work for a water / sewer project in Decatur, Illinois. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
**As of August 17, 2021, project has been awarded in the amount of $411,980.50. This information will not be available until after it goes to Council. It is expected to go to Council July 19th and the information should be on our website by July 21st. The proposed project herein specified and described includes the following work: 1. Sarah Dr: Install approximately 160 foot of 36" pipe with a new manhole and tree removal. 2. North Taylor: Remove drop structure and 11 foot of CMP and replace with new open lid manhole and water main quality storm sewer pipe. 3. Corman Court: Replace approximately 285 feet of damaged storm sewer along with other storm sewer improvements. 4. Fairview Ave: Remove an existing arch storm sewer and replace with 42" PVC pipe. 5. Bayshore Drive: Install approx. 350' of 10" combination storm sewer pipe and underdrain along side of Bayshore Drive. Work also includes an area drain and curb inlet. 6. Crea Street Sanitary Sewer Replacement Alternate: Install a new 8" sanitary sewer to between 614 and 635 Crea St. The existing 15" sewer is to be abandoned in place and filled. The City of Decatur will not release the Engineer's Estimate of Cost in advance of the scheduled time and date of the bid opening. Bid tabulations will be available online after the award of a contract. All proposals must be accompanied by a BANK DRAFT, CASHIER'S CHECK, OR CERTIFIED CHECK made payable to Treasurer, Decatur, Illinois, in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the bid or BID BOND in the same amount. The Contractor and all subcontractors shall at all times during the term of this Contract pay the applicable prevailing wage for Macon County for the period during which the work is performed, as determined by the Illinois Department of Labor. Before the Contractor and any Subcontractor commences work, the Contractor and any Subcontractor shall have in place a written Substance Abuse Prevention Program for the prevention of substance abuse among its employees which meets or exceeds the requirements in P. A. 95-0635 or shall have a collective bargaining agreement in effect dealing with the subject matter of P. A. 95- 0635. The following Minority Participation Goals for Public Works Contracts are in effect for this contract: 1) Ten percent (10%) of the total dollar amount of the contract should be performed by minority business enterprises if subcontracting opportunities are available and/or 10% of the total dollar amount of the contract should be for the purchase of goods, material and equipment to Minority Business Enterprises. 2) Eighteen percent (18%) of the total hours worked should be performed by minority workers. All Contractors shall provide evidence of meeting the City's minority participation goals prior to the award of this project and prior to all payments made for work completed or provide the City of Decatur documentation on their good faith efforts to comply with the participation goals. Required information and documentation forms are included in the Project Manual and should be submitted with the bid proposal. The Council of the City of Decatur, Illinois, reserves the right to accept, renegotiate or reject any or all proposals and to waive any variance from the requirements of the instructions for bidders. At the discretion of the Council, required items may be submitted after the bid opening if there is sufficient compliance with instructions at the time of the bid opening to permit the City to determine the price bid.
