This project will be procured using the two-phase design-build procedures. The contractor is to provide design and construction services to complete the Martinez EHRM Infrastructure Upgrades project in accordance with the RFP to DB, Specifications, and all applicable attachments. This project is located at the: Martinez Outpatient Clinic - VA Northern California Health Care System (VANCHCS) 150 Muir Rd Martinez, CA 94553 The selected Design Builder (DB) shall provide all labor, materials, tools and equipment, and services necessary for design, pre-construction, construction, and closeout of the project. This project includes either the relocation or remodel of approximately 28 existing telecommunications rooms (TRs) and one data center to bring them up to the VA EHRM IT standards while IT services remain operational. The DB shall provide a turn-key project for these rooms in accordance with VA Office of Information and Technology (OIT) and EHRM infrastructure standards, as follows: 1. Design and installation of upgraded communication infrastructure (new data outlets, patch panels, patch cords, upgrade to Cat 6A cable where cabling is Cat 5 or below, fiber upgrade to OM4-rated multimode fiber-optic cable) as indicated for this project. Remove cable/fiber being replaced or found abandoned in place. Anticipate, and include in proposal, a 15% increase in # of drops/data outlets, cables, and patch cords beyond numbers listed for each space in the Project Manual. 2. Design and installation of new redundant fiber infrastructure backbone at the Martinez Medical Center (VAMC) home run from Building 21, Room E100 to building service entrances and within buildings as indicated for this project. Dual loop required to provide redundant feed to campus and throughout campus. Remove fiber being replaced or found abandoned in place. 3. Design and installation of all low voltage raceway systems and room fittings to support network equipment, including all required racing/backing/mounting materials and back boxes to support installation of IT equipment. Active EHRM equipment in the data center will be provided and installed by CERNER and is not within the scope of this project. 4. Design and installation of required power, grounding, UPS, Building Management System interfaces, HVAC requirements, and other system requirements for TRs/data centers in the area or associated with the area of work. 5. Any specific coordination needs to be done with Cerner (through the VA COR), include those technical details, timelines. 6. Reconfiguration, expansion and renovation of existing spaces as identified to meet IT space and configuration requirements (demo, new construction). Design and installation of interior finishes in all areas affected by work under the scope of this project to meet OIT standards for TRs/data centers, and in coordination with the VA Interior Designer for non-IT spaces MBE (25.6%), WBE (6.9), DVBE (100%)
