Renovation of a water / sewer project in Hughes Springs, Texas. Completed plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project.
Removal and replacement of Raw Water Pump No. 2 located on Lake O' the Pines in Marion County, Texas (see Exhibit A, Site Map). The pump provides raw water from Lake O' the Pines to the Tanner Water Treatment Plant at the location shown on Exhibit A. The existing pump to be removed is a Johnston vertical turbine pump, Model 18TMC/5-stage, 1,190 rmp, 2,800 gpm @ 197 ft. TDH, approximately 57 feet long from the base plate to the suction bell. The existing motor is a General Electric, 200 HP, 1,200 rpm, 480 volt, 3-phase, inverter duty. A layout of the raw water pump station is shown in Exhibit B. Photographs of the pump station are provided in Exhibit C. No prebid conference is scheduled for this project. Estimate: $120,00 - $150,000 ALL BID PROPOSALS submitted should be marked clearly on the outside of the sealed envelope with the project name and bid opening time and date. A CERTIFIED OR CASHIER'S CHECK, or an acceptable bid bond in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the total bid shall accompany each bid as a guaranty that, if awarded the contract, the bidder will promptly enter into contract with the Owner and furnish bonds on the forms provided. THE SUCCESSFUL BIDDER OR BIDDERS will be required to furnish a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond, each in the amount of the contract, written by a responsible surety company authorized to do business in the State of Texas, and satisfactory to the Owner as required by Article 5160, V.A.T.C.S. Time of completion shall be 180 calendar days for substantial completion and 210 calendar days for final completion including Saturdays, Sundays, and legal holidays. BIDDERS WILL be allowed to modify or withdraw bids prior to the scheduled closing time for receipt of bids. No bid received after the scheduled closing time for receipt of bids will be accepted or opened. No bid may be withdrawn after the scheduled closing time for receipt of bids for at least 90 calendar days. *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. Specific work items include: a. Utilizing a licensed master electrician, disconnect existing pump electrical; Lock Out/Tag Out b. Disconnect pump discharge piping c. Remove pump from wet well and remove from site for disposal d. Install new raw water pump and motor, including new sole plate (if needed) and base plate e. Reconnect discharge piping including new gaskets and any new flanged ductile iron piping or fittings required to restore the discharge piping to its original condition f. Using the services of a licensed master electrician, re-connect electrical connections including the replacement of any wiring or conduit required by changes in the pump configuration (see Section 11211 for additional requirements) g. Test pump performance and make adjustments as needed h. Perform pump start-up and commissioning i. Place pump into service j. Paint pump, motor and all existing exposed discharge piping from Pump No. 2 on pump level of pump building. Painting Systems are specified in Section 09800. k.
