The Western Headworks (WH) system is an irrigation and supplementary water diversion off the Bow River located west of the Deerfoot highway near the Calgary zoo as shown in Figure 1.0. The WH system was originally constructed in 1903 by C.P.R. It was upgraded in 1912 and again in 1975. The primary function of the WH system is to provide water for the Western Irrigation District (WID) as well as other purposes such as storm water collection and recreation in Chestermere and the City of Calgary. TIMELINE: Request for proposal from water management infrastructure electrical and mechanical systems, has been issued by the owner. *The anticipated duration of Services is from July 15, 2021 to March 31, 2022.
