Site work and paving for a bridge / tunnel in Sands Point, New York. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and for paving for a bridge / tunnel.

It is proposed to rehabilitate the Sand Point Preserve Bridge and approaches, which were built circa 1909. The Sands Point Preserve Bridge is a 24 ft single span masonry and stone arch bridge, with exterior fascia arches composed of stone and interior arch composed of brick. The brick intrados are covered with a concrete stucco finish. The bridge is oriented in a northeast direction and goes over a currently dry streambed. The overall roadway width is 18 feet, supporting two 9-foot lanes. The bridge sustained damages during the 2016 storms, after two trees had fallen on it, destroying parts of the fascia, and parapets, that are original to the bridge. A short-term remedy for the damaged parapets was to install temporary concrete barriers along both sides of the roadway for the length of the bridge. The bridge currently carries a single lane of traffic at a time due to its recently reduced width. The spans of the parapets' walls are approximately 87 ft on the west side and 125 ft on the east side and they are composed of stone retaining walls.
