The University of Nebraska-Lincoln is requesting proposals from qualified bidders to provide all material and labor for the abatement of PCB contaminated sealants on all existing Scott Engineering Building (SEC) exterior window and exterior doors per the design plans & specifications and in accordance with all applicable regulatory requirements as necessary for a complete project. The Scott Engineering Window replacement plans are included for reference and to show the existing SEC doors and windows to have caulking be remediated. The Owner intends to occupy the spaces while the PCB abatement Contractor and Window & doors replacement contractors perform their work. The Window & Door Replacement contractor will install temporary weather barriers and dust barriers for their work. The abatement of caulking in all areas are to be completed approximately 5 working days prior to the scheduled date for window replacement installation. PCB caulking abatement on the East and West sides for Scott Engineering building (SEC) must be coordinated with the window replacement contractor and the new building contractor and Owner to minimize the disruption of the Owner's use of the building and the disruption of other construction work. PCB abatement of window/door caulking on the East and West elevations of SEC may be done from inside or outside of building. PCB abatement of the window caulking on the North side of SEC must be done from the inside of SEC and shall be coordinated with the Owner and Door & Window replacement Contractor. The Window contractor will infill North elevation widows with metal framing and drywall after the caulking has been abated by the PCB contractor.
