Site work for a playground / park / athletic field in Malden, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field.
The work to be done under this contract consists of restoration of a mass stone boundary wall surrounding a public park at the northeast corner of Pleasant and Highland Streets in Malden. The wall is about 400 feet in length, about 30 inches high, and 16 to 18 inches thick; at its Western end it is a "boundary wall," but at its Eastern end, it is a low retaining wall. In its 100 or so years it has suffered the usual movements due to frost and earth action, has been damaged by auto accidents, and has been vandalized. And it has become soiled and in places lichen covered. The intent of this scope of work, more fully described in the attached Contract Document is generally to clean and realign the wall plumb and true to line, replace broken and missing capstones, and seal cracks in existing stone pieces.
