Site work, paving and new construction of a bridge / tunnel in Grand Island, Nebraska. Completed plans call for the construction of a bridge / tunnel; for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and for paving for a bridge / tunnel.

The project is to construct a bridge using materials furnished by a supplier under a separate contract with Hall County with a projected delivery date of September 18, 2021. The bridge is over the Prairie Creek on Sky Park Road between Chapman Road and Prairie Road. The bridge is a 3 span concrete precast panel bridge that is 74.08 feet long with a 31 feet clear width roadway. The substructure is comprised of steel "H" bearing pile, steel sheet pile abutments, with welded connections. Hall County will remove the existing bridge, shape the channel and place riprap. No bid may be withdrawn within a period of sixty (60) days after the date fixed for bid opening. Hall County reserves the right to reject any or all bids, or parts of thereof and award contracts as may be deemed to the best interest of the County. Hall County will perform the following work on the project: - Furnishing all materials for the contractor to construct the bridge including piling, substructure steel, concrete pre-cast panels, bridge rail, erc. - Set up barricades to close the road and the bridge. - Remove existing bridge. - Shape channel and build temporary shoofly for construction equipment. - Perform bridge excavation for the abutments or bents including backfill. - Furnish caulking, grout, sand, welding rod, spray primer for welds, expansion joint materials, etc. - Unload substructural steel and railing including but not limited to bearing piling, sheet piling, miscellaneous steel shapes, bridge railing, bridge rail posts, etc (not including precast concrete deck panels). - Furnish and place rip rap. - Paint abutments before concrete precast panels are placed. - Paint bents, perhaps after concrete precast panels are placed. - Backfill abutment, remove temporary shoofly, do approach grading and place gravel. - Perform construction engineering, inspection, and surveying for the bridge The contractor will be responsible for the following work on the project: - Labor and equipment to construct the bridge with materials furnished by Hall County. - Drive piling. One welded splice on each bearing pile. - Drive sheets for abutments and wings. Install wing tie rods. -Place and weld substructure steel for bracing, abutment caps, bent caps, etc. - Clean all welds immediately after welding and prime with spray primer. - The bolted connections for the substructure are optional and can be eliminated if the contractor has certified welders. - Unload pre-cast concrete deck panels from the delivery truck. - Weld concrete pre-cast panels to bent caps per plan. - Weld concrete pre-cast panels together and grout openings. - Cut off lifting hooks and grout holes in precast deck panels. - Bolt on bridge rail posts and hang thrie-beam bridge rail. *The value for this project is based on a financial range.
