Construction is expected to start in spring 2025 with completion in fall 2027. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: In general, the work consists of: a new 131,000 square foot five story mixed-use building to replace the existing Cofrin Library and house multiple departments including the Library, Campus Administration Student Success, and First Nations Education. The building is fire resistant construction, fully sprinkled, steel frame with composite floor slabs clad with a natural stone rainscreen and terracotta panels. The building incorporates many sustainable features including an efficient and flexible layout, a green roof, solar panels and natural landscaping. Demolition of the existing building will occur after construction of the new building and will include partial removal of the underground concourse system and site restoration at the original building location. This project demolishes and replaces the original campus library learning center and focal point of campus with a new technology and education center on an adjacent site; reconfigures, relocates, extends, and connects the underground site utility tunnel, concourse pedestrian circulation, and utility distribution systems to the new building site; and redevelops and integrates the original site into the updated campus fabric and layout.
