The scope of the redevelopment and revitalization of John Deutsch University Centre and Residences, on the Queen's main campus, will provide state of the art student centre that will allow the student body access to the services and amenities that help fulfill the Queen's learning experience.The scope of the redevelopment of the John Deutsch University Centre consists of two main parts (designed and constructed together, but with budgets being tracked separately: Part 1 - JDUC Redevelopment the demolition of the 1974 addition, a 3 storey 3600m2 addition, on the existing footprint, complete w/ basement and small roof access penthouse, 7700m2 interior renovation of the existing heritage building (L1 to L4 5340m2 forming part of the University Centre / L5 to L7 2364m2 forming part of Residence renovation). In addition, the exterior landscaping has been fully upgraded to provide barrier free access to both new and existing entrances along with an exterior patio forming part of the relocated Queens Pub. Part 2 - JDUC Residences Full renovation of all student bedrooms, lounges and study spaces The majority of the work consists of deferred maintenance systems not accessible during a typical 4 month project period The method of contractor selection has not been determined at this time. TIMELINE: RFP has been awarded to Collier Project Leaders. Project has been tendered and now followed on a separate report as Proposal - Construction of the John Deutsch University Centre (JDUC) and Residence Revitalization Project. Coverage of this report has been discontinued.
