CLARIFICATION DEADLINE Requests for clarification are due Wednesday, September 8, 2021 5:00:00 PM [(UTC-05:00) Eastern Time (US & Canada)]. CEI File No. 174009.05 A certified check or bank draft, payable to Driftwood Borough or a satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the Bidder and acceptable Surety in the amount of 10 percent (10%) of the total bid shall be submitted with each bid. The Bidder shall include with their bid submission all other specified certifications and forms required by the Instructions to Bidder contained in the Bidding Documents. Only bids from bidders who have completed the Statement of Bidders Qualifications will be considered a valid bid. Attention is called to the fact that no less than the minimum salaries and wages established by the Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Law must be paid to workers on this project. Bids may be held by Driftwood Borough for up to 60 days from the date of opening for the purpose of reviewing the bids and investigating the qualifications of bidders prior to awarding the contract. Driftwood Borough reserves the right to delete portions of the project or the entire project when funds are inadequate and to waive any irregularities, omissions, errors, mistakes, or defects in any bid or to negotiate contract amounts at its sole discretion and to reject any and all bids. The awarded contractor will be required to furnish and pay for satisfactory Performance and Payment Bonds, each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract Price with a corporate surety approved by the Owner. A Pre-bid conference will not be held. Contact the Engineer to set up a time to view the site, if needed. Written questions can be sent to the Engineer, by mail or email, until 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 1, 2021. This project includes but is not limited to the replacement of the filter sand media in Filter #2 of the slow sand filters. The filter is approximately 15.5'x15.5'. 1. Project scope is described in the Specifications. 2. The system shall be a complete and operable system as described in the Specifications. 3. Removal work includes removal of the top 2" of existing sand in the Filter #2 and proper disposal of all grit, sludge, debris, removed items. The schmutzdecke should be saved. 4. Contractor is responsible for all costs of disposal of all removed material in an approved and permitted area. 5. Replacement and installation of the filter sand media.
