The principal work to be performed under this contract consists of the installation of stormwater infrastructure to alleviate flooding. The construction will be at three different locations in the Merritt Hills development. Questionsreceived lessthan five days prior to the date for opening of Bids may not be answered. The engineer and owner will evaluate the bids and award the project to the lowest responsible bidder. There will not be a pre-bid meeting. If you need additional information, contact the engineer prior to June 19th to allow time for comments/responses. Each Bid must be accompanied by a BID BOND payable to the Owner for five (5) percent of the total amount of his bid. A CERTIFIED CHECK in the amount of not less than five (5) percent of the bid amount may be submitted in lieu of a BID BOND. A PERFORMANCE BOND and PAYMENT BOND, each in the amount of one hundred (100) percent of the Contract Price, with a corporate surety approved by the OWNER, will be required for the faithful performance of the contract. BIDDER hereby agrees to commence WORK under this contract on or before the date the contract commences to run as specified in the NOTICE to PROCEED and fully complete the PROJECT within 180 consecutive calendar days thereafter. BIDDER further agrees to pay as liquidated damages, the sum of $500 for each consecutive calendar day thereafter as provided in Article 12 of the General Conditions and Paragraph SC4 of the Special Conditions. The OWNER reserves the right to waive irregularities and informalities in bids received and to reject any and all bids and to award the contract where it appears to be in the best interest of the Owner.
