Project was awarded to Carbon Activated Corporation with awarded amount $ 148,260.00 **As of October 1, 2021, this project has not yet been awarded. A timeline for award has not yet been established. The City of Elgin is inviting bids for GAC Filter Media Replacement at its Riverside Water Treatment Plant, 375 West River Road, Elgin, IL. The project will consist of removal and disposal of approximately 1,090 cu. ft. of spent GAC from each of two filters [Filters #2 and #4] at Riverside; rebuilding of Leopold model S surface agitator wash arms, installation of fine filter sand (if necessary) and virgin GAC into the same two filters as described in the Detailed Specifications below. The spent granular activated carbon media will be landfilled. The spent GAC currently existing in filters is described in the Detailed Specifications below. All work shall be accomplished in strict accordance with the following conditions and specifications. The contact person at the City of Elgin Water Department is Eddie A Ramos, Assistant Water Superintendent. The selected Bidder shall commence work as indicated in the written Notice to Proceed and shall complete the filter GAC removal and replacement within thirty (30) days and fully complete the project within thirty-five (35) days The selected Bidder shall commence work not less than twenty (20) days following receipt of a written Notice to Proceed. The Bidder shall anticipate to be prepared for one filter to be available and begin field construction work on November 1, 2021 and please note that this date may need to be delayed based on treatment plant operations.
