*As of January 18, 2022, a general contractor has been awarded. Replace approximately 1,100 feet of 8-inch water main within California Street between Placer and Tehama Streets. In general, water mains will be relocated and the existing main will be abandoned in place. Water services and fire hydrants in the project area will also be replaced. The existing storm drain at the southeast corner of California and Tehama Streets will be replaced with an 18-inch storm drain pipe. The Contractor shall possess a valid Class A or C-34 license at the time bid is opened. There are 30 working days. Each bid shall be made in accordance with the specifications and proposal requirements thereof and no bid will be received unless it is made on a proposal form furnished by the City Engineer. Each bid must be accompanied by cash, certified or cashier's check, or original bidder's bond made payable to the City of Redding for an amount equal to at least ten percent (10%) of the total amount of the bid as a guarantee that the contractor will execute the contract in conformance with his proposal and the specifications. Such guarantee shall be forfeited should the bidder to whom the contract is awarded fail to enter into the contract. The City of Redding hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively insure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, all businesses will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, national origin, gender, disability, or other protected class in consideration for an award.
