All persons awarded and/or entering into Contracts with the City of Manhattan shall be subject to and required to comply with all applicable city, state, and federal provisions pertaining to non-discrimination, equal employment opportunity, and affirmative action on public Contracts. The City of Manhattan reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any irregularities therein. This section covers work associated with the plugging of Well #18 and eleven associated injection wells in Manhattan, Kansas, owned by the City of Manhattan and located near Linear Park in Manhattan, Kansas. The work covered in this section covers well pump and associated equipment removal, placement of approved grout, placement of chlorinated washed sand and gravel, and removal of the above-ground materials associated with the well and eleven associated injection wells. The work outlined in this section and shown on the drawings must be performed by a person holding a current Kansas well installation contractor permit or Kansas pump installation contractor permit issued by the Kansas Department of Health & Environment. All work performed shall be carried out in a manner satisfactory to the Engineer and the Kansas Department of Health & Environment. Contractor shall be responsible for filing all necessary paperwork and paying all corresponding fees for well plugging with the Kansas Department of Health & Environment. Well #18 and associated injection wells are located near Linear Park and the Big Blue River Public Access Area located on the south side of Highway 24. It is across from Griffith Lumber in the S 1/2 of Section 9, T10S, R8E. The location of Well #18 along with a cross section showing the approximate size and depth of this well is shown in the drawings.
