Saving Project...

Renovation of a retail development in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Completed plans call for the renovation of a retail development.

The Farmers' Market Building, located at 414 Avenue B North, requires interior base building improvements and renovation to allow for commercial enterprises to operate from this location. The renovations will include construction of 21 vendor shell spaces, 8 food service spaces, one bar space, new washrooms, as well as new main and secondary entrances. The HVAC system will be enlarged and enhanced to provide year-round conditioned air to the interior of the building to ensure occupant comfort. The electrical distribution will be enhanced and enlarged, as required, to support the new mechanical systems as well as new lighting systems. The work will be predominantly contained within the building, with the only exterior work related to the placement of new mechanical HVAC equipment and building entrances. The construction is to take place in two Phases. Phase 1 will include the construction of washrooms, restaurant and bar spaces, support rooms, changes to exterior doors and walls, and the enhanced and improved HVAC system. This work is to be completed initially to meet Federal funding requirements. Phase 2 will include additional work and alternative options which may be added to the scope, depending on budget availability. The City's tenant and/or their sub-tenants will be responsible for fit outs to vendor shell spaces, including the bar and restaurant spaces.
