Site work for a road / highway in Parksville, British Columbia. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway.
The scope of improvements include: Reshaping and surfacing up to 2000 lineal meters of trail and construction of approximately 100 lineal meters of split rail fence. All of the trails to be improved are very high use. Many trail sections are worn down to where they are trapping water during rainy months, becoming muddy, resulting in erosion and visitor dissatisfaction. The trail surfaces require reshaping and surfacing to ensure positive drainage while still maintaining accessibility. New sections of split rail fence need to be installed to block off and discourage unauthorized short cutting to the shoreline which has been contributing to impacts to the natural environment adjacent to these trails. The project is located at Rathtrevor Beach Provincial Park - 3 kilometers south of Parksville on Hwy 19A, on central Vancouver Island. Documents can be obtained from www.bcbid.gov.bc.ca.
