Demolition, site work, paving and new construction of a bridge / tunnel in Snelling, California. Completed plans call for the demolition of a bridge / tunnel; for the construction of a bridge / tunnel; for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and for paving for a bridge / tunnel.
General work description: Replace the existing bridge with a cast-in-place prestressed concrete slab bridge and replace approximately 800-feet of Los Cerritos Road with Class 2 aggregate base and hot mix asphalt. You must perform, place, construct, or install other items and details not mentioned that are required of the plans under the Standard Specifications and special provisions. Bid forms for this work are included in a separate book titled: COUNTY OF MERCED STATE OF CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS BID BOOK FOR LOS CERRITOS ROAD OVER DRY CREEK BRIDGE REPLACEMENT PROJECT No bid will be received unless it is made on a bid form furnished by the MERCED COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS. Copies or facsimiles of the bidder's completed and executed bid forms submitted as a bid will be rejected. Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check, cashier's check, or bidder's bond made payable to the COUNTY OF MERCED for an amount equal to at least ten percent (10%) of the amount of bid, such guaranty to be forfeited should the bidder to whom the contract is awarded fail to enter into the contract. The Contractor must have either a Class A license or a combination of class C licenses that make up a majority of the work. The successful bidder will be required to obtain a Merced County Business License before execution of the contract at his own expense. No contractor or subcontractor may be listed on a bid proposal for a public works project unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5. The DBE Contract goal is (8%) eight percent. For the federal training program, the number of trainees or apprentices is 1. Attention is directed to Section 7-1.11C of the Standard Specifications for Female and Minority Goals for Merced County. Bids must be on a unit price basis. All bids are to be compared on the basis of the COUNTY OF MERCED'S estimated quantities of work to be done. Complete work within 235 working days. No prebid meeting is scheduled for this project. Present bidders' inquires in writing to Al Buenrostro, Sr. Engineer Associate at the County of Merced - Department of Public Works, 345 West 7th Street, Building A, Merced, CA 95341-6685; email: ABuenrostro@countyofmerced.com. Questions about alleged patent ambiguity of the plans, specifications, or estimate must be submitted inwriting at least five (4) days before bid opening. After this time, the County will not consider these questions as bid protests. You must take necessary and reasonable steps to ensure that DBEs have opportunity to participate in the Contract (49 CFR 26). Prevailing wages are required on this Contract The COUNTY OF MERCED reserves the right to reject any or all bid proposals and to waive any informalities or irregularities in any bid or in the bidding.
