TThe Project consists of an equipment upgrade of the Hospital’s Johnson Controls/Simplex fire alarm that will replace older addressable (IMap) and non-addressable devices with new addressable (IDnet) devices. The replacements will include a new main fire alarm panel and new addressable I/O modules to interface with other hospital systems such as Nurse Call, Security and Building Automation System. Work will be within the acute care area and in the Long Term care area. The Contractor will be required to employ approved infection control measures during the work. The Contractor will be required to submit work plans for their installation work that impacts Hospital operations and for work requiring fire alarm shut-downs, testing and verification. The Owner has pre-purchased the Johnson Controls/Simplex Fire Alarm through the electrical distributor Wesco and this pre-purchase contract will be assigned to the Contractor for this Project. The contract for this Project will include a cash allowance for the provision of the new fire equipment and associated services including verification from Wesco. Additionally, the contract will include a Cash Allowance for hazardous materials mitigation. The work scope will include system operation demonstration and staff training. We can expect a completion by approximately July 2023. Completion will be impacted by materials delivery and availability of access to work areas within the Hospital.
