Site work for a mixed-use development in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Completed plans call for site work for a municipal facility; and water / sewer project.
The work includes site preparation (per Specification 01010), clearing, grubbing, and stripping; removal of existing temporary slope drains and associated diversion berms; filling in some areas to be capped to reduce subgrade slopes to specified grades; installation of soil bedding layer, installation in areas to receive final cap of geomembrane, geocomposite drainage net (GDN), 18-inch protective layer and 6-inch topsoil layer; installation in areas to receive temporary cap of geomembrane and UV resistant sandbag system. Also, the construction of stormwater down chutes and outlet piping and protection; ancillary grading to meet grades along the edge of capped areas; modification of existing landfill gas collection system.
