For Trellis Walk Full Depth Reclamation and Resurfacing The proposed construction consists of furnishing all materials and equipment and performing all labor necessary to complete the Full Depth Reclamation and Resurfacing of Trellis Walk in Centerville. All work will be in accordance with the Georgia Department of Transportation standard specifications and supplemental specifications (latest edition), the Georgia Manual for Erosion and Sediment Control (latest edition), Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices, and the City of Centerville. The proposed construction will be awarded in one contract. All bids must be accompanied by a Bid Bond in the amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the Total Base Bid. Performance and Payment Bond, each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the total contract amount, will be required of the successful bidder. Bonds must be written by an acceptable Surety Company licensed to do business in the State of Georgia and listed in the Department of Treasury, Circular 570, latest edition. The successful bidder shall secure and pay for all permits, assessments, charges or fees required in connection with the proposed construction. The City of Centerville reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities or technicalities or to re-advertise as appropriate. Install traffic as required by GDOT Specifications and the MUTCD (Latest Edition) o Perform 12" Full Depth Reclamation as described below: This work includes constructing a stabilized base course by pulverizing the existing pavement structure and mixing with Portland cement in conformance with GDOT Special Provision 315 to the areas specified by the engineer including sand and bituminous prime meeting the requirements of the GA DOT. A Mechanical Roadway Reclaimer, Mechanical Cement Spreader and Motor Grader with Automatic Slope Control shall be used. Construction shall meet specifications and the Job Mix Design as applicable, and be completed to the lines, grade, and depth as shown on the details and typical sections herein or established by the Engineer. Any necessary milling or removal of excess material from curbed streets shall be included in the unit price. Adequate Job Mix Designs shall be established by a qualified testing firm based upon representative samples from each roadway or subdivision street to ensure that the base construction meets the requirements of the specifications. Separate samples from short cul-de-sac streets may or may not be necessary. The testing firm shall also ensure that each road and portions of the roads are constructed to adequate depths. Cost of Job Mix Design shall be included in the overall bid for the work. The contractor shall reestablish the centerline of the roadway by maintaining adequate reference points for the duration of the work. This work shall also include widening of existing roads at locations identified in the contract or at the direction of the engineer. Within subdivisions, the option to wet cure the completed FDR may be allowed. If wet curing is proposed, the contractor will provide a dedicated water truck to keep the surface of completed base course moist until paving operations begin. Excessive amounts of cement and soil cement material, asphalt "chunk's" and other debris produced from the FDR process shall not be left exposed on the existing or finished slopes, shoulders and ditches of the roadway. These materials and debris shall be incorporated into the existing shoulders and slopes or properly disposed of to the satisfaction of the engineer immediately after the FDR is completed on each road and street.
