Bid Package 2 All Other Work (MEP, Interior Construction, Drywall, Painting, Siding, and Finishes, etc) THIS PROJECT IS A DESIGN-BUILD DELIVERY OF A 152 -BED CAPACITY INMATE WORKER FACILITY. IT IS A TWO-STORY BUILDING WITH ADA ACCESS ON THE FIRST FLOOR ONLY. THE BUILDING IS ARRANGED IN 4 TIERS WITH QUAD SLEEPING ROOMS THROUGHOUT. EACH TIER HAS A DAYROOM AND ASSOCIATED RESTROOMS. THE PROGRAM IS A STEPPED OR LEVEL PROGRAM WITH GREATER AMENITIES PROVIDED FOR THE FIRST-FLOOR TIERS OVER THE SECOND-FLOOR TIERS INCLUDING LAUNDRY AND KITCHENETTE THE FACILITY IS MEANT TO PREPARE RESIDENTS FOR REENTRY BY PROVIDING A MORE NORMATIVE ENVIRONMENT AND OPPORTUNITIES FOR INDEPENDENT LIVING SKILLS TRAINING. AMENITIES, PROGRAMS, AND DESIGN ARE INCLUDED TO EMULATE THE RESTORATIVE JUSTICE PHILOSOPHY OF THE IDAHO DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTION. COLOR, GRAPHICS, AND ACOUSTICS ARE IMPORTANT TO THE CLIENT TO PROVIDE A NORMATIVE ENVIRONMENT FOR RESIDENTS. RESIDENTS WILL HAVE THE FREEDOM TO MOVE THROUGHOUT THE DORMITORY AND INTO OTHER TIERS/DAYROOMS MOST OF THE TIME. THERE IS THE ABILITY TO LOCK THE DORMITORY DOWN INTO FOUR TIERS SHOULD AN EVENT OCCUR. RESIDENTS DO NOT LEAVE CAMPUS TO WORK IN THE COMMUNITY 1. Design and construct a new 152 Bed minimum security prison dormitory within the existing secure perimeter and other Work indicated in the Contract Documents. Utilities followed on November 18, 2021. Site work is scheduled to start on December 23, 2021 and structure construction will begin on March 18, 2022.
