Deadline for Submission of Questions Prior to Bid Opening November 24th, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. : The Maintenance Hole Rehabilitation project consists of Ten (10) maintenance access holes at various locations along South A/Main St between 2nd and 18th St are proposed to have frame adjustment per Springfield standard 4-1A. Construction activity involves saw-cutting and excavating existing (deteriorated) ACP surrounding the frame, replacing frame and lid, and replacing surround with reinforced, early-strength concrete to match existing road grade creating a smooth traveled surface. The other main component of this project will be temporary traffic control around the various work zones. South A/Main street is heavily trafficked with multiple bus stops adjacent to proposed work zones and the LTD Springfield Station. Using an early strength concrete mix design will benefit temporary traffic control as it is cured and traffic-ready within a few hours after placement. An ODOT miscellaneous permit has been approved for this project, as each work zone is within ODOT right-of-way. Per this permit, lanes shall be opened by 2 p.m. to avoid commuter traffic. work must be completed no later than by April 30th, 2022.
