As of February 11, 2022, the project has not yet been awarded. A timeline for award not yet been established. The project consists of (but is not limited to) grading and subsurface drainage improvements to address seepage near the Thomaston Mills Reservoir dam. This project includes excavation into the downstream toe and abutment of an existing dam to construct a subsurface drainage system. The proposed drainage system will be comprised of a blanket and trench drains as well as a series of collector and outlet pipes at the toe of the subject dam as a means to control seepage. Also included are erosion control, monitoring well modifications, and all other ancillary items for a complete and functional project. The Contractor shall be responsible for the cleanup and disposal of waste materials and rubbish located within the project limits and that are generated by the Contractor due to his operation. The disposal of waste materials and rubbish shall be in accordance with applicable Federal, State, and local laws and regulations, with applicable requirements of OSHA, Construction Safety and Health Regulations, and with the requirements of this specification. Should a conflict exist in the requirements for cleanup and disposal of waste materials, the most stringent requirement shall apply. The project involves the construction of remediation measures for an existing earthen dam. The remediation measures will include clearing, grubbing, and stripping of the dam; installation of a subsurface blanket drain along the left abutment; installation of a trench drain along the right abutment; and establishment of permanent turf.
