Site work and new construction of a fire / police facility in Varennes, Quebec. Working plans call for the construction of a 15,695-square-foot, two-story above grade fire / police facility; and for site work for a fire / police facility.
Construction of the new fire station 29 in the City. The new two-storey building will bring together garages, cleaning spaces and equipment storage on the ground floor while living areas and administrative spaces including dormitories, changing rooms, a fitness room, a training room and offices will be located on the second floor. TIMELINE: Demolition and deconstruction of the structure existing on the site was completed. The project implementation was delayed due to legal issues between the City and the initially selected professional consultants because of changes in the scope of work that entailed an increase of costs. The owner has awarded the architectural firm Yves Woodrough architectes for updating the tender documents for the construction of the new firehall. Owner expects that a tender for the general contractor will be issued in spring/summer 2026.
