Project Description The proposed parking expansion at the Park and Ride Facility has an estimated Stated Cost Limitation (SCL) of $1,500,000.00, and will add 178 spaces to the existing 550 spaces. 13 The University of Georgia BOR-10-2204, College Station Park & Ride Expansion, CM RFQ/RFP 3 existing spaces will be removed to create access lanes, resulting in the net addition of 165 spaces and a total space count of 715 at the Park and Ride Facility. The use of porous paving material and the need to import fill material to maintain desired gradient across the site are particular design aspects of this proposed expansion. To maximize available parking within the remaining developable property, porous pavement will be utilized to meet stormwater quality standards and to reduce the total volume of above ground stormwater detention that would otherwise be required with conventional paving. Porous pavement will be utilized in the parking spaces while conventional asphalt will be used for the driving lanes where there is greater traffic flow. This smaller development footprint will allow all parking and required stormwater management improvements to remain outside of the existing floodplain limits. An existing detention pond at the north will also be utilized to treat stormwater from the northwest portion of the Park and Ride. The scope also includes landscaping and site lighting. Construction must be complete by July 31, 2022 so that expanded parking is available for use at the beginning of the 2022 Fall semester.
