Site work for a power facility in Hillsville, Virginia. Working plans call for site work for a power facility.
The project scope includes the phased installation of infrastructure, a new 25 mile, 138 kilovolt transmission line and upgrades to 48 miles of transmission line in Carroll, Floyd, Henry and Patrick counties. Component 1: Stuart – Willis Gap Transmission Line Project T-Line Construction expected to begin Fall 2026 Component Project in service Winter 2027 Huffman Substation upgrades in service Winter 2031 Component 2: Stuart-Floyd Transmission Line Rebuild Project T-Line Construction expected to begin Fall 2027 Component Project in service Winter 2029 Floyd Substation upgrades in service Summer 2030 Component 3: Stuart-Bassett Transmission Line Project T-Line Construction expected to begin Fall 2027 Component Project in service Winter 2029 As of October 2, 2025 the project is in planning stage. Information regarding design professionals, the general contractor and subcontractor opportunities has not been disclosed. Construction is expected to begin in the fall of 2026 and be complete in 2031.
