Question Submission Close Date 12/17/2021 3:00 PM MST GSD is entering into this multiple stage bidding process for a general contractor for the complete rebuild of West Lake Junior High School. Stage I will involve the pre-qualification (unpriced technical offers) of contractors based on the criteria outlined in this document. During Stage II, pre-qualified contractors will be invited to submit price bids. Final contractor selection will be based on the lowest responsive and responsible bid as submitted in Stage II. The only contractors allowed to bid on this construction job will be contractors prequalified by this bid solicitation. The project will consist of the complete rebuild of West Lake Junior High School. The new West Lake Junior High located at 3400 South 3450 West, West Valley replaces an existing school, on the same site, damaged in the 2020 earthquake. The existing building is being demolished as part of a separate project for the GSD. The replacement school is based on a prototype middle school plan recently completed for the Jordan School District at the Hidden Valley and West Jordan Middle Schools. The 2-story structure is a mixture of load bearing masonry and steel BRB support systems and is roughly 196,000 square feet. The building is organized along a connecting main spine with the CTE, performing and visual arts, athletics, and building support spaces on the north, and the learning communities, media center, administration offices, and teacher hub on the south. Site amenities for the 19-acre property will include a reworking of the green space around the building, a running track and play courts, plus three (3) separate parking lots.
