Renovation of a library in Agawam, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for the renovation of a library.

The Agawam Public Library Selected Drywall Replacement. SCOPE OF WORK: All work required by the drawings and specifications, including, but not limited to the following: 1. Visit the site and preparing a work plan to schedule the work areas to have metal stud removed and replaced, re-insulated, drywalled, and to receive drywall repair, which shall be supplied to the Town of Agawam, Director of Building Maintenance for scheduling approval: 2. Clearly mark all areas for insulation installation, drywall replacement and drywall repair on the walls for review by Architect and TOA for conformance with the plans & Specifications. a. Architects shall be final arbiter of said work areas delineations. 3. Furnish and install all protective materials required for the work, including but not limited to dust control, wall, door and carpet/flooring protection, and all other items and services required for the completion of the work. 4. Furnish and install all metal stud and metal stud components as required by the Plans and Specifications. a. Metal stud bypass framing fixed clip connectors anchored to masonry walls to support metal stud as per plans and specifications. b. Metal stud track and stud components as per the plans and specifications. 5. Furnish and install all new insulation within the wall cavities 0 this section and Section 07 00 00): a. Insulation products shall include but are not limited to: i. Closed-cell spray foam products and assemblies: ii. Batt insulation products and assemblies: iii. Vapor barrier products and assemblies: b. All clean-up and environmentally compliant legal disposal of waste products: 6. Furnish and install new drywall system: a. All drywall products, system components and accessories required to complete the work: b. All finishing of the new drywall and drywall repairs as denoted on the plans and specifications i. Drywall shall be finished to Level 5 finish in all exposed areas, and level 3 in all concealed areas.- ready for coatings ( by others). 7. Reinstall all stored (from previous demolition work) covers for electrical outlets, switches, fire alarm boxes, and all other obstructions within the work area and activate. a. The Town of Agawam shall make the electrical circuits safe for cover reinstallation, but all other work is the responsibility of the Contractor to make safe prior to the commencement of the work. 8. Carefully re-install all wood moldings to be re- installed from previous demolition work. Special care shall be taken NOT to mar the surfaces of the wood or damage the moldings in the reinstallation process. This work shall be completed by skilled craftsmen who are capable of NONDESTRUCTIVE reinstallation of the wood moldings, as the moldings are one-of a kind. a. Carefully reinstall each piece removed, see dis-assembly plan and number system provided by demo contractor placed on the back of each piece, provided for reinstallation. b. Review and install as per corresponding number on a pictographic diagram supplied by demolition contractor in a previous stage of the work. 9. Carefully reinstall all required hung ceiling track, wall mounted terminations AND all required runners and other elements of the grid previously removed by the demolition contractor. Remove all existing bracing, additional hangers or other required bracing, shoring or stiffeners installed to secure the remaining hung ceiling AFTER the system is completely re-installed. a. Carefully reinstall each piece removed, see dis-assembly pan and number system provided 15. All workers shall work in harmony with the Town of Agawam and other contractors on site. a. All demo and or waste materials shall be placed in covered dumpsters, and dumpsters shallbe moved off site as soon as filled. 16. All permitting and inspection costs shall be borne by the Contractor. 17. Work not included – see 1-106, infra. 18. Workers shall be Contractor’s general work force and on his/ her standard payroll, AND NOT SUB- CONTRACTORS hired by the contractor for this job. by demo contractor placed on the back of each piece, provided for reinstallation. b. Review and install as per corresponding number on a pictographic diagram supplied by demolition contractor in a previous stage of the work. 10. Carefully re-install hung ceiling tiles to be re-used. a. Each panel is numbered on the back side with a corresponding number on a pictographic diagram supplied to the owner for this reinstallation. Carefully follow this diagram for the reinstallation process. 11. SAFETY, equipment and Dust control: a. All safety and monitoring shall be the responsibility of this contractor. b. NOTE this contractor shall provide the following but not limited to all necessary work lights, staging, access equipment, safety equipment, dust control and clean-up operations for the work areas. c. This work area is an existing public library. The work area shall be sealed for dust control by this contractor. It is to each contractor to determine the best way to contain the dust and debris, and each contractor shall be responsible for maintaining said control. Any dust or debris spillage outside the work areas shall be cleaned by or at the expense of this contractor. 12. All re-installation (as required) of every kind, including but not limited to wood moldings, fasteners, drywall, drywall accessories, vents, vent accessories, electrical covers, fire alarm, emergency lighting and all other obstructions to the work and any other re-installation required as shown on the plans and specifications. 13. Remove existing doors, frames and accessories and furnish and install new exterior steel doors frames and associated hardware in the three locations shown on the plans. Patch to match all disturbed areas affected by the work. 14. All safety and regulatory requirements must be met for work on site. a. NOTE this is a public library next to an active High School, and required checks and background searches may be required for EACH worker on site, and is the sole responsibility of the Contractor to meet all Town, State and Federal laws pertaining to said proximity to the school zone. 15. All workers shall work in harmony with the Town of Agawam and other contractors on site. a. All demo and or waste materials shall be placed in covered dumpsters, and dumpsters shall be moved off site as soon as filled. 16. All permitting and inspection costs shall be borne by the Contractor. 17. Work not included – see 1-106, infra. 18. Workers shall be Contractor’s general work force and on his/ her standard payroll, AND NOT SUB- CONTRACTORS hired by the contractor for this job.
