The University of Connecticut is seeking Statement of Qualifications from experienced and qualified engineering firms for the project of an Eversource second electrical feed to the University of Connecticut. RFI Deadline Date 12/20/2021 2:00 PM Scope Review Meeting (with lowest qualified bidder, to be determined after Bid Opening) January 11 th 2022 2:00 p.m. These guidelines establish consistent standards for mitigating the spread of COVID-19 that must be undertaken by the Contractor and are intended to assist UConn in meeting its commitments. PROJECT DESCRIPTION/SCOPE OF WORK: o Primer needs - Primer walls are to be primed with a primer of the graphic installer's choosing and allowed to be adequately off gas before hanging wallcovering. There are five graphical areas including text and quotes. Specifications illustrate dimensions of graphics, sizes of graphics and proximity to exiting doorways. o Blocking needs. This includes drywall cutting, patching, painting and repair that must align with building standards. Must also comply with requirements of Division 7 Section "Fire Stopping". All sheet metal blocking is to be 16 gauge. Specification provides for dimensions of blocking which includes graphics, screens (see media package for screen/mount details), directional speakers (see media package for screen mount/details) and blocking for wood cabinet mounted to wall (see cabinetry package for cabinet details). There is also blocking for touch screen, a whiteboard/bulletin board and pamphlet holders. o Cabinetry details provide dimensions for cabinets, hardware, wood type and staining, sizes, and type of pamphlet holders. o Media details that display must be able display a single MP3 file at a resolution of 5760x 1080 on a screen of 65". o Graphic. All graphics of sizes are included in the graphic set documents. All graphic elements have bene finalized print ready production files which will be given to the contractor. One final digital proof will need to be supplied to UConn and the exhibit design, prior to printing. PROJECT SCHEDULE/DURATION: o The construction is planned to start May 16th 2022 o Construction duration: Substantial completion no later than June 30 th, 2022 PRE-BID CONFERENCE: The Pre-Bid Conference is not mandatory, however, interested Bidders are strongly encouraged to attend to view existing conditions. The Pre-Bid Conference will commence promptly at the time noted herein. If metered on street parking is not available, then contractors can park at the Front Street Garage located at 62 Front Street Hartford CT at their own expense. REQUEST FOR INFORMATION QUESTIONS: All Requests for Information ("RFI") questions are to be posted under the Q & A Board Tab in the HuskyBuy sourcing event for this Project. No phone calls or RFI questions emailed directly to the Procurement Agent will be accepted. BID CLARIFICATIONS, ADDENDA, and INTERPRETATIONS: Bidders shall promptly notify the University of any ambiguity, inconsistency, or error which they may discover upon examination of the plans, specifications, or other contract documents. Any and all interpretations of the drawings, specifications, Responses to any RFIs, or other contract documents and any supplemental instructions, will be in the form of a written bid clarification/addendum, if issued, and will be posted as part of the HuskyBuy ITB sourcing event under the Buyer Attachment Tab. Failure of any Bidder to receive any such addendum or interpretation shall not release any Bidder from any obligations under its bid as submitted. Liquidated Damages of five hundred dollars ($500.00) per calendar day shall be assessed if the Contractor fails to achieve Substantial Completion, or causes delay to the Substantial Completion of any portion of the work within the Contract Time. SELF-PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENT: If awarded this contract, the Contractor on this Project shall be required to perform not less than ten percent (10%) of the completed dollar value of the work with its own forces. SET-ASIDE REQUIREMENTS: The "Set-Aside" Requirement for this Project is that (1) not less than thirty percent (30%) of the Total Contract Price be awarded to subcontractors who are certified by the Connecticut Department of Administrative Services as "Small Business Enterprises" ("SBEs") and (2) not less than ten percent (10%) of the Total Contract Price be awarded to subcontractors who are certified by the Connecticut Department of Administrative Services as "Minority Business Enterprises" ("MBEs") (the 10% set aside for MBEs may be included in the 30% set aside for SBEs). If the Contractor is an S/MBE, then any self-performed work may be included in the Set-Aside Requirement. The Contractor is responsible for ensuring that they, and the S/MBEs they have selected, are eligible Connecticut-certified S/MBE contractors. The University of Connecticut is committed to increasing participation and enrollment of Small and Minority Businesses (S/MBE's) on our contracts. It is expected that those contracting with us will give thoughtful consideration to the approach they use in their selection of the eligible Connecticut-certified S/MBE's that they will utilize and maximizing work opportunities for S/MBE's. To ensure that you are exploring all possible opportunities for S/MBE participation, included below is a sample of specific possibilities for the breakout of the schedule of values. We appreciate your partnering with us to ensure that S/MBE's are given an opportunity to work, contribute, and grow their businesses on University projects. *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. The estimated value range for this project is $100K-$500K. 1. The project scope of work includes installation of new wall displays along the first floor corridor of the UConn Hartford Campus. The scope of work includes but is not limitied to furnish and installation of adhered vinyl wwall graphics, 2. Removal of all debris caused by this Contract. 3. Protection of the public, building, grounds from damage during this contract is the responsibility of the Contractor for this project at all times.
