The City of Maryville, Missouri owns a solid waste transfer station in the city limits and desires to lease the facility to a selected Operator. The Operator will be responsible for all operation and maintenance of the Maryville Transfer Station in a neat and orderly condition and performance of a variety of work at the site. Duties involve tasks related to care taking a transfer station, such as directing users of the facility to appropriate areas for dumping refuse, keeping the site as orderly as possible, operating the scale, and transferring or facilitating the transfer of waste to an approved disposal facility or landfill. Based on the submittals provided the City of Maryville plans to select the best and most qualified bid proposal as the city determines appropriate. Following the selection of the Operator, the City of Maryville will finalize a formal lease agreement with the selected Operator. The lease agreement will include provisions and terms for operation and maintenance of the Maryville Transfer Station. The initial lease term will begin in March 2022 for a period of three (3) years with three (3) additional one (1) year renewal options. The City will not guarantee the Operator waste tonnage or flow control. The lease agreement with the City will also prohibit the long-term storage of solid waste vehicles on the leased property. The Operator shall be responsible for all snow plowing, ice control, sweeping and general orderliness of the transfer facility. The City of Maryville reserves the right to dispose clean fill, road sweepings, scrap metal, brush and logs at the site, at its convenience and at no additional cost. The City of Maryville reserves the right to accept or reject, at its sole discretion, any or all proposals for whatever reason it deems adequate, and to select the firm whose qualifications and proposed services are determined to be, in sole judgment of the City, in the City's best interest. No prospective Operator may withdraw a proposal within forty-five (45) days of the actual date of the opening thereof.
