Site work for a water / sewer project in San Jose, California. Working plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.

The objective of the Palo Alto Flood Basin Tide Gate Structure Replacement Project (Project) is to construct a replacement tide gate structure and remove the existing structure which has reached the end of its service life. The new structure will ensure continued flood protection provided by this critical infrastructure for Matadero, Adobe, and Barron Creeks, and the City of Mountain View Coast Casey Pump Station, and to protect the existing PAFB habitat and continued public recreational use of the levee trails. Notice is hereby given that the Santa Clara Valley Water District (Valley Water) has determined that all General Contractors wishing to bid on the Palo Alto Flood Basin Tide Gate Structure Replacement Project (Project) must be prequalified prior to submitting a bid on the Project. Bids will not be accepted from any contractor that has failed to comply with the requirements stated in this Prequalification Application. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. The Basin holds the stormwater and the tide gate structure which provides the outlet for stormwater into the Bay during low tides. The tide gate structure controls the water elevation in the basin by keeping high tide out and allowing the water to empty out twice daily during low tides. One of the gates is a sluice gate that is being operated by the City of Palo Alto and incorporated on their SCADA system which allow some tidal inflow to improve the Basin's water quality habitat. Project has been cancelled.
